The SKYTOOL API are the application programming interfaces for connecting to the SKYTOOL platform. They consist of a structured set of software services that allow external systems, web portals, management systems, quotation platforms or customised applications to communicate directly and securely with the SKYTOOL infrastructure.
Through the SKYTOOL API, it is possible to integrate into your own applications the flight search, selection, detail and PNR creation functions, right through to ticket issuance, whilst maintaining full compliance with the fare, operational and economic rules defined by the relevant consolidator. Operations carried out via the API are always visible in the SKYTOOL back-office associated with the consolidator, which governs conditions, access and application parameters.
Role and functionality of the SKYTOOL API
The SKYTOOL API does not replicate the entire SKYTOOL platform, but provides a targeted set of functions geared towards integration. Its main objective is to enable the development of customised solutions, such as the creation of dynamic packages (flight + hotel), through structured access to flight booking services.

Unified SSO (Single Sign-On) Authentication
The SKYTOOL APIs provide for the implementation of an SSO authentication client that will connect to an external SSO Identity Server, allowing the user to access multiple applications within the same portal (flights, hotels, services) without having to log in repeatedly.
Business models
Use of the SKYTOOL API requires the purchase of an annual development licence and one or more production keys, also annual, to be linked to each activated application developed.

Consolidator
Air ticket supplier, holder of contracts with global distribution systems and airlines, and owner of the SKYTOOL4CONSOLIDATOR platform. Defines fares, rules and conditions of access to the APIs.
Non-IATA Tour Operator or Non-IATA Agency
A client wishing to sell dynamic packages but unable to issue tickets. Operates under an agreement with a Consolidator, utilising the SKYTOOL4CONSOLIDATOR platform and private fares. Requires a dedicated production API Key.
They may purchase the SKYTOOL API Development Licence directly or use that of an Integrator who already possesses it and will develop the Application for them.
IATA Tour Operator or IATA Agency
A client wishing to sell dynamic packages, possessing both their own private fares and IATA authorisation. They operate under an agreement with a consolidator and require a dedicated production API Key.
They may purchase the SKYTOOL API Development Licence directly or use that of an Integrator who already possesses it and will develop the Application for them.

Software Integrator
A development company that builds the final application. It usually purchases a development licence or uses the Customer’s licence.
To ensure economic balance, a ratio is applied between searches carried out and actual bookings (the “look to book” principle), with potential financial compensation in the event of intensive use without adequate output.
The SKYTOOL API is aimed at operators with development capabilities, either in-house or via an integrator. The main target audience is:

|Tour operators, including specialist ones, who intend to compete with dynamic solutions.

A Tour Operator does not need to purchase the entire SKYTOOL platform: it is sufficient to enter into an agreement with a consolidator for access to the booking system and activate the API licences required to develop their own digital solution.
For each application developed, a Production API Key is required, to be purchased on an annual basis.
